Description
This position is for the programme expansion of the Kerala State Geography & Global Studies Challenge in India.
Responsibilities
In September 2020, IAYG organized the Kerala State Geography & Global Studies Challenge, featuring one hundred of the state's top students in an innovative multi-day virtual format. We are heartened by the success and popularity of the virtual event, an ideal match for pandemic circumstances, and want to bring the event to other parts of the country in 2021. If you are passionate about geographic education and are interested in programme management, we're looking for you! Programme expansion leads will help draft competition plans, analyse the feasibility of introducing new Challenges, reach out to local schools and partners, and bring together volunteers for new virtual Challenges modeled on the Kerala State Geography & Global Studies Challenge.
Skills
We are looking for: 1) citizens and permanent residents of India and 2) non-Indian residents with high familiarity with a region and organizing landscape of India. Strong English-language ability required. Familiarity with another official language of India is a plus.
Experience
No prior experience with geographic education is required, though the ideal candidate should have demonstrated reliability and a commitment to delivering on priorities.
